We were happy over the Hextech skins when League of Legends first introduced them – so much that we just couldn’t wait to give them a try. These are a series of alternate universe/feature skins that are set in an alternate Zaun and Piltover. Each one of the champions is either Hextech machinery or Hextech users.

While there are many different Hextech skins you can get, there are five that really stand out from the crowd. In this post, we will introduce you to the 5 best Hextech skins in League of Legends…

1) Hextech Annie

Annie, with her most prized possession, Tibbers, is always by her side – Tibbers is her friend, confidant, and monstrous bodyguard. The Hextech Annie skin is at the top of our list when we think about Hextech skins in League of Legends, and if you’re a Bioshock fan, you’re going to love this one! With the Hextech skin, Annie is dressed up as, you guessed it, Little Sister. Can you guess who Tibbers is? That’s right! Big Dad. Looking at this skin, we can understand why so many League of Legend fans are wanting it.

The textures and models changed for Annie, and they didn’t forget about good old Tibbers. Tibbers was transformed into a giant frightening robot, and during a battle, he glows in blue Hextech style.

Along with a chance in the appearance, the skin comes with new animations. For example, while teleporting, Annie tosses a Tibbers doll, which is pretty cool. All of the abilities, external colors, and spells have been turned into a blue Hextech flame. During fights, you’ll witness a magical effect like no other.

Many players had opened up over 100 Hextech chests before they were able to get this skin.

Pros

  • Tibbers glows in blue Hextech style.
  • New animations
  • Riot has added a lot of sound effects.

Cons

  • This Hextech skin is one of the most difficult skins to get.
  • Expensive.

The price for this skin is 300-500 dollars, sometimes even more. This is because, to obtain this skin, you will need to open up a large amount of Hextech chests and keys, which will include a lot of Riot Points.

2) Hextech Alistar

Alistar is a living golem that has been built by the best artificers you can find in Runeterra. As for the Hextech skin, it looks amazing, but you can only get it by giving up 10 Gemstones or getting it in a Hextech Chest. It’s going to be as rare as the other exclusive skins, including Lancer Zero Hecarim, Kog’Mar, and Hextech Annie.

As far as the skin changes go, you can expect drastic changes to this champion – it does a great job at bringing the fantasy to life. The changes include a new texture, new model, new animations, new splash image, new sounds, and new visual effects.

Pros

  • Shiny with blue and gold colors.
  • Alistar, as a Hextech creature, looks great.
  • New textures and animations.
  • There are new animation particles for every skill.
  • The new Hextech inspired sounds are cool.

Cons

  • Hard to obtain.

The Hextech Alistar skin will cost you a total of 10 rare gems unless you’re able to get it from a Hextech chest.

3) Hextech Amumu

What you have here is a mechanical boy that you can’t turn away from. There have been some drastic changes made to this champion, but they are all good changes – changes that do a great job of bringing fantasy to life. This includes a new texture, a new model, a new splash image, new visual effects, new sounds, and new animations. With the recall, get ready for that sad face!

Pros

  • A new splash image that looks amazing
  • New visual effects
  • New animations
  • New shiny sounds

Cons

  • Difficult to obtain

This skin can be obtained by combining ten gemstones.

4) Hextech Rammus

There’s no doubt that the ones who designed Hextech Rammus put a lot of thought into him. Each one of his arcs was crafted to mimic the golden spiral. The skin changes are pretty good, and they did a great job of bringing this champion to life. The changes include new texture, new model, new animation, new visual effects, and new sound.

This armored armadillo rolls in with its usual shiny purple, gold, and blue color scheme like we always see with Hextech skins.

Pros

  • Shiny new look
  • New animations are cool.
  • The new sound is excellent.

Cons

  • The spikes…they’re still going to hurt when they roll into you. The spikes look a bit bunter with rounded edges, which we’re not used to. But like we said, they’re still going to hurt.

To get this skin, you can obtain it in-game by using the Hextech crafting system. You can combine 10 gemstones and unlock the skin.

5) Hextech Anivia

Anivia’s birth just so happened to be the foundation of the modern Hextech movement, followed by the multiple creatures that emerged after her. With Hextech Anivia skin, the champion is pushed beyond just a simple costume change – fortunately, she has qualities that are more immersive and eye-catching. This includes a new texture, a new splash image, and a new model.

Until the development of Anivia, early Hextech lifeforms weren’t considered sentient. Anivia is an artificial avian that is capable of limited speech.

Pros

  • New texture
  • New model
  • New splash image

Cons

  • No new animations
  • No new sounds
  • No new particles

At this time, this skin right here is no longer available for purchase (I know, that bites) and has been placed in the Legacy Vault. From time to time, the vault is opened, and that is when you can purchase the skin from the Riot Store.

Conclusion

If you have either one of these skins, go ahead and pat yourself on the back because it takes a lot to get them. Our personal favorite is the Hextech Annie skin (because we’re a big fan of BioShock). What about you? Do you have any Hextech skin you feel the need to brag about?
