Just another huge League of Legends fan and a technology geek. I’ve recently got my Master’s degree in Computer Science, so now I finally have enough free time to play League. I’ve been playing the game for nine years now, and my highest rank was Master (231 LP – Season 10). I was also ranked #3 on LeBlanc in Season 10. Since I have very high knowledge about League, my goal is to help my fellow Summoners, which is the main reason why I founded LeagueFeed. LeagueFeed is a free resource website for all League of Legends fans worldwide!

The era has passed when the only monitors supported by Nvidia are those with G-Sync. Now, why are FreeSync monitors better than Nvidia G-Sync?
Everybody is trying to cut costs as much as possible. Unlike Nvidia G-Sync, you don’t need to break the bank to purchase a freeSync monitor.
Adaptive technology has made it possible that Nvidia graphics cards can be used with any display, and it will present the same images as other screens.
In 2019, Nvidia started “Nvidia FreeSync”, which is a G-Sync Compatible Initiative. If any FreeSync or adaptive sync displays are connected via DisplayPort, they can be used with the recent Nvidia GPUs.
What are the FreeSync Monitor and the Nvidia Card?
FreeSync is an intelligent synchronization technology used in liquid-crystal displays meant to reduce screen flickering and stuttering.
The Nvidia graphics card has a wide range of customers, but the prices of its Nvidia G-Sync monitors are on the high side.
The high price of a Nvidia GPU with a Nvidia G-Sync monitor would have been the best for the high performance of your PC.
Good news to Nvidia graphics card owners! You can now enable G-Sync on FreeSync. FreeSync monitors are considerably cheap and can be hooked up with your Nvidia card to save on the high cost of G-Sync.
Is the FreeSync Monitor Worth It?
Limitation doesn’t mean impossibility. The FreeSync support for GeForce graphics cards didn’t come without hitches, but it was worth it. The limitations are:
The feature is only supported by the GeForce 10 and 20 series.
You can connect the GPU to the monitor only through the display port.
Your FreeSync can’t be connected through HDMI or DVI ports.
The 417.71 version of Nvidia drivers must be installed.
Three display types currently certified by Nvidia to use adaptive sync technology
Ultimate G-Sync
G-Sync Ultimates are the best monitors. They have Nvidia’s G-Sync HDR technology and a complete suite of HDR features inside.
Regular G-Sync
Each of these monitors has a G-Sync module that works with Nvidia GPUs but not with Sync HDR.
Compatible G-Sync
They are FreeSync monitors certified to be used with GPUs by Nvidia. By default, an installed G-Sync Compatible monitor and Nvidia’s latest drivers will enable adaptive sync. You shouldn’t hook up a non-certified FreeSync monitor to your Nvidia graphics card, though it may or may not work. If you follow the instructions below, you will discover that it’s easy to connect a G-Sync compatible FreeSync Monitor to Nvidia.
How To Connect A G-Sync Compatible FreeSync Monitor To An Nvidia GPU
Have you gotten one of the certified G-Sync Compatible monitors? If your answer is yes, the next step is connection.
The steps involved in the connection of a Sync Compatible FreeSync Monitor to an Nvidia GPU are as follows:
Step 1: Connect the FreeSync monitor through the Display port
Use the HDMI 2.1 port if you have any of the RTX 20/30 series or GTX 16 series Nvidia GPUs.
Step 2: Update the latest version of windows.
To open the app,
Right-click on the Windows logo and choose settings,
Select the “update and security” section.
Click the “Check for Updates” button.
Hit the pending update message button to download and install it.
Activate the update by restarting your PC.
Step 3: Uninstall existing GPU drivers
Download Nvidia Drivers for your GPU from Nvidia’s official website.
To do that, first go to Nvidia’s website and search for your GPU model, the latest drivers will come up; download them.
If you need a clean driver installation, the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) application is the best and most reliable.
Before you start the process with DDU, disconnect your internet until you complete the new driver’s installation.
Once the driver finishes downloading, restart your PC.
If Nvidia releases any new versions, GeForce Experience will be downloaded and installed.
Step 4: Enable the FreeSync feature through its settings
This may be different from one brand of the monitor to the next.
Step 5: Turn on your G-Sync
Right-click on your desktop and a drop-down menu will show up. Select the Nvidia Control Panel.
Choose Change Resolution from the menu bar.
Choose the FreeSync monitor.
The resolution is to be adjusted to the highest possible option.
From the left panel, click on the Setup G-Sync section.
BenQ is easy to set up, has wide flexibility in connectivity options, and has a flexible stand with an anti-glare screen.
Excellent on a 32-inch panel, the right size for that sharp 3840 x 2160 viewing, automatically adjusting brightness, contrast, and color temperature.
The presence of BenQ’s B. I sensor detects the intensity of your content, and the HDRi sensor detects the current ambient light.
Why is the BenQ FreeSync Monitor the best?
The BenQ FreeSync monitor is aimed at reducing screen tearing and stuttering triggered. It’s supported by other electronic manufacturers.
Coverage for 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut
AMD FreeSync technology synchronizes the display’s refresh rate.
High HDR compatibility, and refresh rate.
It delivers a wider color space and more lifelike images.
A Buying Guide for a FreeSync Monitor
Avoid unrewarding gaming monitor experience. The beauty of buying your FreeSync monitor is that you get satisfaction. It is difficult to make the right choice of a gaming monitor in the midst of a large number of products that are available.
Check the following features of the monitor before you put down your money:
Adaptive Sync: It allows your graphics card to dictate the refresh rate of your monitor.
High Dynamic Range (HDR): It allows your monitors to display a broader range of colors.
Flicker-Free: It makes your monitor free from burning or shining fitfully.
Contrast Ratio: Contrast measures the image quality of your monitor.
The physical ergonomics of the monitor
Conclusion
If you can connect Freesync via DisplayPort, it can be used with Nvidia GPUs. Why go for an expensive G-Sync monitor or any other monitor when there is a Freesync monitor which is affordable and presents good images like others.
All you need to do is to connect your G-Sync compatible FreeSync monitor to the Nvidia GPU you have at home.
