Jaximus – The Ultimate Skin Review

Jax, The Grandmaster At Arms, was Runeterra’s greatest weapons master; he was, unfortunately, the only survivor of the Khohari. It left Jax missing a home and a purpose. After this, he gathered the Last Light of Icathia, which became his symbol of hope that he would defeat the void that destroyed Icathia.

Jax spends his life searching for warriors that are strong enough to fight the coming darkness. Any great hero needs a great skin, and with this review, you’ll learn all about the Jaximus skin and what makes it so special and unique.

Is the Skin Easy to Obtain?

The skin is easily obtainable, and it is always in the store so that you can buy it at any time; the price of it is 975 RP. The skin was first released in 2011. Jaximus was used to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation, 100% of the RP sale price for Jax, and the skin was donated to make a wish. A cancer patient, 17-year-old Joe, who was in the Make-A-Wish foundation, had wished to visit Riot, and his favorite character was Jax.

He contributed ideas to the Jaximus skin, and he even has a line in the game dedicated to him where Jaximus says, “Here’s to you, kid.” By dedicating this line to Joe, it showed compassion amongst the gaming community as many people donated to Make-A-Wish

Jax as Murmillo

This skin shows Jax as a murmillo, which was a type of Roman gladiator. Jaximus has such great potential, but not all of it was completely recognized. It completes the representation of a Murmillo, but it doesn’t stray too far from the Classic Jax.

Classic Jax is normally purple, but with Jaximus, it further completes the idea of a roman gladiator with his red attire. He wears a bright red cloak with a matching skirt; his helmet is metal with a visor and a plume adorning it. The poleaxe helps execute the theme and the enemies. The skin has a beautiful concept of a Roman gladiator, with the colors and the outfit to further support the style.

I Wish it Had More Features.

Jaximus does well for his personality as a skirmisher. Unfortunately, it does lack any features of new particles and new animations. However, Jaximus has a walking quote where he says ‘’Here’s to you, kid’’. This skin would have been absolutely perfect if it had more features, but it’s still a lovely skin with a great backstory.

The skin has some lovely qualities and manages to push the champion in a different direction than his Classic look. It’s much more than a plain model change.

A Look at the Splash Art

Now onto the splash art for Jaximus. The background is a simple sketch of an arena which isn’t anything too special. The sword and the shield on the ground help complete the idea of an arena, the shading isn’t perfect, but Jax fares well compared to the environment. The art makes Jax look deadly, with his poleaxe dripping blood. It portrays Jax as a Roman gladiator with his clothes being eye-catching. So the splash art aids in making Jaximus appealing.

Conclusion

Overall, I feel that the Jaximus skin is a big hit. The skin is 975 RP, which is well worth it.

Just another huge League of Legends fan and a technology geek. I've recently got my Ph.D. in Computer Science, so now I finally have enough free time to play League. I've been playing the game for nine years now, and my highest rank was Master (231 LP - Season 10). I was also ranked #3 on LeBlanc in Season 10. Since I have very high knowledge about League, my goal is to help my fellow Summoners, which is the main reason why I founded LeagueFeed.
