League of Legends fans take note: A new spin-off of the popular MOBA game series is in the starting blocks. The 2D action role-playing game “The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story” is already scheduled for release on April 18, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
- From the developers of roguelike “Moonlighter”
“The Mageseeker” is being developed by Digital Sun, who already enjoyed success with the roguelike Moonlighter. The new game is dedicated to the League of Legends champion Sylas and his background story, which begins in the kingdom of Demacia. There, as a mage, he was captured and imprisoned by the magic seekers. Now he has freed himself and wants to take revenge as well as start a rebellion to push the magic seekers from the throne.
- Action role-playing game with magic and chains
In “The Mageseeker” you take on the role of Sylas and gradually learn the different strengths of magic. You’ll be able to handle fire and ice spells and swing your chains to defeat enemies. Jumping passages and searching for new allies are also part of the gameplay. The game will be available at a price of 29.99 euros, and pre-orderers will receive Syla’s feathered friend, the lost Silverwing, as a loyal companion. Those who spend ten euros more will get the Digital Deluxe Edition with more content.
- Collector’s Edition with many extras
For collectors, there is also an expensive Collector’s Edition for 179.99 euros, which includes a figure of Sylas, an art book with hardcover, a ten-inch vinyl record with soundtrack, a Lux comic with hardcover in a special edition, an art print, pins of Sylas and Lux, and a Collector’s Edition box. Players on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 should note, however, that they will not receive a game code with the Collector’s Edition.
- Promising Spin-Off
With “The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story,” fans can expect a promising spin-off with an exciting background story and interesting gameplay. The different strengths of magic and swinging chains make for action-packed battles, while searching for allies and starting a rebellion provides variety.
Developed by Digital Sun, who already developed the popular roguelike Moonlighter, this spin-off should be a highlight for fans. Collectors can also look forward to an extensive Collector’s Edition.
