Greg Street had been part of Riot Games for a long time
It was a sad day for League of Legends fans when Greg Street, better known by the nickname “Ghostcrawler,” parted ways with Riot Games. Street had been part of Riot Games since 2013 and held roles from Head Designer to Executive Producer over the years.
He helped develop League of Legends into the game we know today before announcing his departure on March 7th, 2023. League of Legends is now one of the most popular video games ever made with millions of players around the world and many players are as thankful to Ghostcrawler as they are to anyone else involved with League.
It will be interesting to see where Ghostcrawler goes next and what impact his work has on the gaming world in years to come.
His team will build the League of Legends MMORPG without him
League of Legends is one of the most popular games in the world, and the anticipation for their upcoming MMORPG version is understandably high. Since Greg Street stepped down from his position, this has led players to naturally wonder what will happen to the MMORPG.
Thankfully, Street has taken the time to assemble a top-notch team of developers who are more than capable of making sure the end result is superb. Fans can trust that even without him involved this special team will provide them with an impressive gaming experience.
In a recent interview, Street mentioned that “the development of League of Legends MMORPG was progressing well and that they are dedicated to releasing only the highest quality products.” It seems they want to make sure that when they announce a release date, players know it will be worth the wait. The entire team at Riot understands what’s being expected from them, and won’t let fans down with a rushed end result.
The announcement from Street was a big shock for all LOL fans. However, it is not an apocalyptic scenario for Riot Games. The League of Legends MMORPG will still be released.
