How to Remove Items in Teamfight Tactics?

Team Fight Tactics Season 6.5 brings the players many exciting experiences with new elements and different classes. Especially ranked double up is a new feature many players enjoy.

Just starting Season 6.5, Team Fight Tactics has received a lot of positive feedback from players all over the world. With the success of the previous seasons TFT Season 6.5 also enthusiastically responded. Although there are a few bugs here and there, it still attracts a large number of players into the game mode.

Besides new champions and Classes/Augments, Items are also an important thing in TFT. To have the right items that fit with the playstyle along with the team set-up is the key to victory.

But, have you ever accidentally given a champion/unit items that you wanted to give someone else or to use it later in the game?

If yes, then you’re not the only one!

How to Take Items Off a Unit in TFT

Accidents happen all the time, especially when you’re in a rush putting items together or to swap a unit’s spot. Sometimes, you have to sell your 2-stars Rare unit to be able to get the item you need. However, there is another, easier way for you to pop off the items just with a little bit of imagination.

With Any Items

However, this method only works on complete items and on a unit that has 2 or 3 items.

Say you have Braum 2 with a phantom dancer, a Thornmail, and a Dragon’s Claw, and you made another Thornmail; and want to take the phantom dancer off of Braum, because you will make Braum 3 and want him to carry with 2 Thornmail.

The way I would do it is: Right before you buy the 9th Braum, take your Braum 2 (with 3 items) off the board, put your other Braum 2 on a hex, and put the Thornmail on him.

After that, make Braum 3.

Usually what happens is you get a Braum 3 on the hex with only Thornmail and all three items that are already on your Braum pop-off (in this case Thornmail and Dragon’s Claw).

With The Thief’s Gloves

Thief’s Gloves have always been a strong item in TFT. It is especially good with a high-level team/unit without core items or no items at all.

For example, one of your units has sparring gloves, but you don’t want that champion to have the Thief’s Gloves (Sparring Gloves + Sparring Gloves)?

The solution is to put this unit onto the Hex, and then give them the second sparring gloves to make the Thief’s Gloves. The Thief’s Gloves will automatically pop off that unit.

With the Magnetic Remover

Riot has thought of this problem and they have made an item specifically designed to unequip your champion out of all items. It is called The Magnetic remover.

With the Reforger

Another item that made its way in the world of TFT is the Reforger. While the Reforger doesn’t work exactly like The Magnetic remover it has a somewhat similar effect. The Reforger changes the desired item you have moved it on to a completely random item and after that it immediately pops off from the equipped champion, making you open to the possibility to equip it on another champion.

How to Remove Items Using a Shortcut in Teamfight Tactics (TFT)

To remove an item the old-fashioned way: simply select a champion in your inventory, and then drag it down — but who wants to do that?! Using a shortcut is way better!

By default, the sell champion option should be on E. Simply hover over a champion and press E. Be careful, there’s no undo button. If you want to customize it to another key, such as using S— for sale. Press ESC -> select Teamfight Tactics -> then look for the “Sell Champion” option and change it to whatever you want. It’s that simple.

I've been playing the game for nine years now, and my highest rank was Master (231 LP - Season 10). I was also ranked #3 on LeBlanc in Season 10. Since I have very high knowledge about League, my goal is to help my fellow Summoners, which is the main reason why I founded LeagueFeed.
